A New Chapter Begins in 2025!

2024 marked the final year of the Gower Bluegrass Festival as we knew it. After 20 years of dedication, Roland Emmanuel retired, and with no immediate successor, it seemed the beloved event would be lost to the growing list of cancelled UK festivals.

Thankfully, Richie Saunders—local event organiser and cider maker at Shed Head Cider and the Gower Heritage Centre—has stepped in to keep the music alive.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people asking if it’s going ahead this year,” Richie shared.
“We decided to take on the challenge—with a few slight changes. It won’t be strictly bluegrass; we’ll be introducing Americana, folk, country, and roots into the music mix to reach a wider audience.”
